Infinite Beauty
In scrolling through my stream of all these photos from the past week—there it was: My gratitude—and my obsession— with beauty as it unfolds in this fleeting season. It requires nothing of me but to be noticed. An infinite blessing of impermanence. Always teaching me to look and let go, because nothing stays the same--thank God, I never stay the same. And when I focus on the one beautiful thing before me right now, in this second, I am home.
Beauty even inspired me to attempt another poem–so here’s
Ode To Beauty:
I’m grateful for the beauty of this earth,
The lessons of the wild,
A never ending dance of life, death, and rebirth.
I’m grateful for the beauty of humanity,
For hearts that open and close in dazzling complexity
As we float between shores of joy and pain.
I’m grateful for the beauty of sound,
For wind, birds, and music that move body and soul,
As they play a harmonious tune with our dark and light.
I’m grateful for the beauty of words,
For power and healing in spoken, written truth,
Imparting a wisdom that unites souls.
For the untamed beauty of this life, I'm grateful.
It sustains me in each moment,
In me, around me, everywhere.
